Election, not selection:

Interesting the word impeachment and the phrase "No one should be immune to questions, including the President." are in this article talking about a group of 450 professors of law, international relations, and public policy who have sent a letter of protest to congress. (062204a) But that's not all folks: A prominent federal judge has told a conference of liberal lawyers that President Bush's rise to power was similar to the accession of dictators such as Mussolini and Hitler. (062204b) Meanwhile Bush slips behind Kerry in the polls for various reasons: Iraq, 9/11, the terror war, the economy, trustworthiness, and more... (062204e)

Bush boy said he had nothing to hide, as far as his military record is concerned, so why is a news media organization having to sue to see "his good record." (062504a)

Nader and Republicans working together to get Nader on the ballot in Oregon. (062704a)Yet, Nader says he's not "a spoiler". Amazing, no? Yes!

Declaration of Independance listed a set of specific charges against England's King George. Here we have a list of those complaints cross referenced with acts of Mr. Bush to demonstrate that he, Mr. Bush, has been as offensive as that earlier ruler. (070104b)

This story shows how the people can lead the government, we do care about ecology, global warming and are willing to accept the cost of having increasingly fuel efficienc cars..."so why be da' guvumint' so beehyne da' koive on dis' heyah mattuh, dats whut Ah be wantstin to no...." (062604a)

The Wars:

Terror and 9/11:

Here is a story being investigated, it seems the person interviewed claims that flight 93 was shot down in Pennsylvania that it did not crash. The website dates the story 6/29/4 and promises to follow up. We shall see what we shall see...(070104c)

Here is an excerpt from an interview of an "intel person", still inside, whose book explains some of the errors we've made and how they are costing us dearly. (062404a)

We have word that the 9/11 commission, which grabbed headlines because a preliminary report contradicted Bush doctrine, may cave and rework and add in additional data, from Cheney of all friendly folks. Will the commission cave and make amends? (062204c) In Iraq another city is lost, will they play the Falluja Gambit in Baqouba as well? (062504d)

I've mentioned this story before, and one still wonders whether Brazil is going for the nukes. (062904a)

Muddle East/Kurds:

Kurds in the way? Take a look at this article, it reports that the Kurds are keeping their army, nearly a quarter million strong, and that, from their perspective trouble is brewing between several factions in Iraq. In other words, it could become a royal mess, and soon. (062804a) A concise overview of the five party dance now ensuing around Iraq and Kurdistani asperations Who wants what and why makes for an interesting read. (063004a)

Muddle East/ Iraq:

Here is an optimistic and realistic view point which defends, somewhat left handedly, what we've done in Iraq (062304a)saying, in sum, that whatever has gone on before there is still a chance that good may come of it and it cites some supporting evidence. Then too: What is our enemy in Iraq like? Here is a portrait of what it seems to be. (063004b)

Remember Fallujah? That might be the Iraqi equivalent of "Remember the Alamo" We left the city and the resistance feels it was their victory. (070804a)

Previous articles talked about the resistance's beginning to assault Baghdad. While I think such a move wpi;d be premature on their part, this story might be talking about some opening shots. (070804b)

Pakistan may be pressured/willing to send as many as 50,000 troops to Iraq sometime before January of next year? Is this a good idea/bad idea. It is being talked about. (070604a)

Ignore the hyperbole and opinion in this article, and focus on its facts, only 2% of Iraqi's believe we're "liberators", we've lost control of several cities, Negroponte, our ambassador to Iraq, is the man who oversaw the anti-contra terror campain of Nicaragua in the 80's under Regan, we build permanent bases, make laws for the Iraqi's, and so one wonders what "hand over" means when nothing much is really handed over, even Saddam, despite our media's trumpeting of such. (070104a) Ok the hand over is a done deal, they are free now, sort of, kind of, in a way, NOT! (070204a)

We keep hearing about "all those foreign fighters in Iraq" well, our best estimate is that they represent about 2% of the resistance movement. (070604c)

The official report on "how we're doing" is a long pdf file, novelette in legnth and it is located here at globalsecurity.org, but just skipping through the doc. seemed to show a collection of bad news and little reason for even meassured optimism. (070402b)

Muddle East/Iran and Muddle East/Israel:

This article is about a recent skirmish where 5 died, however it also talks about Israeli resistance to giving up settlements, to not giving up settlements and radicals who just might make their own bloody headlines. (070604b)

A good article giving some insight into Israel's ambitions for playing a regional game against its only remaining rival, Iran. They assist the Kurds and no doubt have other interests as well. (062504b) For their part the Iranians are probably persuing their interests in Iraq, Afghanistan and nuclear power.

The "Christian Zionists" actually go back about 100 years, but in recent decades have become quite important to Israel, US foreign policy, and the sit/com that is this region. (070604d)

Mo' money, Mo' money... versus the environment.... guess who wins? No, really!

From the Daily Misleader, we have a story, or stories that talk about how the Bush administration is hiding thousands of previously public documents to "undercut the public's right to know about contamination of the environment, transport of hazardous materials, pipeline routes, and more." (062404b) I understand national security concerns but the public is having important data removed from its reach, while the aforementioned "undercounting" goes on. (052404c)

Meanwhile in Iraq billions not accounted for so: "Where be da money? Wha'be gowen on ya'll? It be lookin' lak truk loadz uh money be missin' sho'nuf, yassuh!" (062704b)

China/Taiwan:

This article's salient point for me is in its second paragraph where it mentions that South Africa has had sales of nuclear materials with military applications to wayward, independence-leaning Taiwan. (062504c)Oh goody more non proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. When will we invade South Africa? Where are the sanctions? Hahaha!

HEY, it's the STUPID MEDIA:

Cheney gets caught lying and the interviewer moves on, Clinton lies and the world can't stop hearing about it, fair's fair after all. (062204d)Clinton was lying about sex; Cheney was lying about 9/11 and the pre emptive war on Iraq, not at all in the same league....

Election, not selection:

Didn't Bush say, in his state of the union 2003 that if a retired person was happy with his/her Medicare benefits he/she could keep them? He proposed that businesses that offered coverage could offer to supplant Medicare, as I understood it. However what is law now has it that: a business can take its subsidy for providing drug benefits and reduce or cut its own coverage, (072104a)" and it "has the potential to slow or even reverse the decline in the level of retiree health coverage provided by employers.'' (072104b)

Voting machines are out in parts of Ohio, security, reliability. Yet much of the state will still use them. (072104d)What priority to we assign our precious right to vote?

Terror and 9/11:

Getting ready for the draft? Government website info, an informative article. (071804b) Speaking of 9/11 here is a nice video clip that names names, puts faces in places and gives Bush a real hard time.

The Senate's Intelligence Report: What is buried in it, the deletions and excisions, and the Office of Special Plans, (072104c) Here is more about the Office of Special Plans. (072104e)

Muddle East/Iran:

Get ready, get set, go! Here we go again along with rumors that Bush has targeted Iran for regime change upon his re election, we have this story outlining the intel communities disagreement with Bush assessments concerning Iran's involvement with 9/11 I mean "shades of the past" no? (072204a)

Muddle East/Iraq:

First the good news, and I'm glad there is some, small projects work wonders, they're cooperative, Iraqi directed and employ locals, mostly. (072104i)

The Brits have it right, their report has it that intel was bent to accommodate policy already predetermined, and yet, no one is at fault for the invasion of Iraq and how it has gone awry. No one even has the guts to say sorry. (071504d) Meanwhile in the US the Powell has offered an apology for the things he offered America as true which were debatable even at the time he said them. Talk about turning question marks into exclamation points, sheesh. Oh, but we went to war anyway. (071504e)

Let's go back to Niger and the yellow cake, Iraq and Al Qaida, according to Bill Clinton the CIA is not to blame for those "goof ups" (071804a)

The shrinking "Coalition of the Willing" may make the occupation forces' work harder, (071504f) just as the insurgents are planning for "bigger things" with a hint of Iran in the mix...can't be good. (071504g)

The Abu Ghraib scandal is, perhaps, seemingly going away, but if Seymor Hersh is correct we have even more explosive video to see and hear. I will only pass along this link, so you can read what's being circulated. (071504h)

Bush and Blair have mentioned, now and again, that there are 300,000 Iraqi's buried in mass graves. What is not mentioned is that 1) this is a guesstimate and that 2) some of those buried died as a result of US policy and changes in same. This article outlines the source of the figure and how we helped make it as large as it was. (072204f)

Muddle East/Israel:

Mo' money, Mo' money:

Well don't this beat all insurance companies are cleaning up over here, they can get in with "captive audiences" our men and women before they ship out, and sell, sell, sell. It's a rip off, but no one seems to be taking it seriously. (072004a)

Republicans giving Bush a hard time on the environment? It happens as they say, here's the word. (072204c) But that's not all folks, check this story too (072204d)

Another Halliburton/Cheney Iraq rip off story, talk about pink pudgy paws purloining pudding! (072204e)

HEY, it's the STUPID MEDIA:

Fox Media chastised for broadcasting false facts, of course you won't find this in US media, only in England. (072104h)

Election, not selection:

Lack of Bush service continues to surface even after records have been lost. (080204b) Bush coming unhinged? Is he on meds and what kind? (080204g) I can't speak for the verity of the article, but some one should consider the consequences of "letting it go unquestioned."

What does Ronald Regan's son have to say about today's Republicans? He gives them hell, that's what. (080204h)

Many of the votes in the US will be counted by computers, does anyone feel that a lack of oversight of those 4 companies responsible for that titanic responsibility should be an issue? (080204i - q) This is a good over reaching article with a good number of specifics, details, names, dates, and places. If that is too much read this much briefer opinion piece from the NYT. (080204r)

OK, Will Mr. Nader ever understand that the Republicans like him, FOR A REASON? (081904e)

And then again maybe we need help, from abroad, to watch us elect someone... (081904f)

In order to get into Bush or Cheney rallys you have to pledge loyalty to them, really, you have to sign papers stating just that. By Sidney Blumenthal Salon.com Thursday 19 August 2004.

Terror and 9/11:

One might think that the man being held for David Pearl's murder. Significantly, Sheikh is also the man who, on the instructions of General Mahmoud Ahmed, the then head of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), wired $100,000 before the 9/11 attacks to Mohammed Atta, the lead hijacker. Incidentally David Pearl's wife and the US government believe his is innocent of the killing. Interested in reading the story? (080204a)

The 9/11 Commission Report; Would you like to read what one important witness had to say about its "coverage" of the events? Puzzled & Curious from Whistleblower Sibel Edmonds (080204c) Another ex-employee has had enough, and in a letter specifies some of the goof ball things our intel has been doing, or rather, not doing, no one, it seems is to blame. (081904b)

Here it says that Bin Laden did not pay for the 9/11 hijackers expenses, (080204f) but we do know that Pakistani government officials did have money wired to them in the days before 9/11, see 080204a above. What an interesting set of ideas this proposes, but do inquiring minds want to know?

Saaaay, want a free copy of the 9/11 commission report? Here it is in a PDF download: http://www.9-11commission.gov/

How to fight terrorism, lesson one: when you capture an enemy agent interrogate first follow up all leads, check all evidence, THEN release the man's name to the world. But that is not how we play it, especially if you want to grab headlines from the democratic convention. See the story here, (080704a)

How to fight terrorism, lesson two: when you have a mole in the enemy's camp do not broadcast his name. Read that story here. (080704b)

Well we know that the 9/11 commission and the investigation in the Iraq invasion mess has produced one clear culprit, the CIA mainly. The problem is that, well, it ain't so. Another book details not only the political backslapping that produced those documents but how it bodes ill since those responsible are both still in power and prone to make similar errors (082104a)

Muddle East/Iraq:

Speaking of casualties, I've talked about that before. the figure of 900 plus US soldiers dead is just that, the figure for US soldiers. Were we to count US civilians and others who are "on our side" the figure would be higher, but perhaps impolitic to mention. This article estimates 2,000 dead and 12,000 wounded (080204e)

What is going on in Iraq? Cities fall out of control, Chalabi is the "mayor of Baghdad" at least parts of it and the war rages on. (080204t)

Might we see Australia pull its troops out of Iraq? Might we see another ally being distanced by US policies? Read the story that is not being covered in the good old U S of A. (080704c)

The words secession and Iraq appear in this article concerning Najaf, not a good sign that the concept is being talked about is it? (082004a)

Mo' money, Mo' money:

One wonders about the following story, that the fire regulations at nuclear plants are becoming less stringent even as many of them are failing to meet the standards currently on the books, so let me get this straight, because they are out of compliance we rewrite the regulations? At a time when terrorists would "just love" to help fires along? (080504a)

One-third of President Bush's tax cuts have gone to the wealthiest 1 percent of Americans (081904d)

Global warming, this article describes the contents of   'Boiling Point': Who's to Blame for Global Warming by Ross Gelbspan, it talks about how the media has effected American's perception of global warming. (081904a)

HEY, it's the STUPID MEDIA:

Kerry coverage by the media slumps while Bush gets a bounce, the story cites a study showing the media's bias and unbalance is on the increase. (080204d) Here is a story that covers the "my bad" apology which appeared recently in The Washington Post. (081904c)

China and Sudan:

Did you know that China has 4000 troops in Sudan? That they are there to protect a pipeline project? That China tends to support Sudan against its enemies because well, the arms sales mean business is business isn't it? So the US wanting to solve the Darfur problem, wants UN involvement and China does not. (082104b)

Constitutional Change:

We have the Constitution Restoration Act. One wonders how it is "restorative" when it proposes to weaken the separation between church and state, limiting, as it does, the U.S. Supreme Court and federal courts to hear cases involving "expressions of religious faith by elected or appointed officials." (090604c)

Election, not selection:

The "controversy" over Kerry's Vietnam service, amazing isn't it how the incumbent, one who avoided service, went AWOL, even from the "Champaign corps" as one of his units was called, calls into question Kerry's actions? John Edwards demands President Bush calla for those television ads to be pulled because they are lies funded by Bush allies. (082204a) Bush adviser quits after appearing in swift boat ad Kerry has accused group of illegally working with Bush Campaign (082204b) Swift boat skipper: Kerry critics wrong Tribune editor breaks long silence on Kerry record (082204c) Some of the veterans in the Swift Boat group have, publicly and for the record praised Kerry so they are, I guess, flip floppers. (082204f)

Here is the word from the man Kerry Rescued. (090604b)

Here is the word from the one time House speaker of Texas had an epiphany at the Vietnam Memorial in DC he talks about helping rich people, in this case by getting their children "out of harm's way" Georgie Bush took that way out. (083004c)

An 80% desertion rate for Iraqi personnel set to face off against Sadr's army. (082304b) Then we seem to be planning the same kind of error we've done before, albeit on a smaller scale, this time instead of unemploying 400,000 we are opting for unemploying 30,000 police. (082304c)

And in case you want to hear another more comprehensive blast at bush, reading one, right on. (083004d)

Poverty is up so is the number with out health insurance. During the Bush years we've seen steady growth in these numbers. (090604a)

Kerry's War vs. Bush's War:

I am talking Vietnam here, this should be the final proof I'd offer to any who don't already question, deeply, Bush's record. This story, from a pilot, from around about the same time tells and asks it like it is, so to speak. (082504c) Then we follow up with: This week, former Lt. Governor Ben Barnes of Texas 'fessed up to pulling the strings to keep Little George out of the jungle. "I got a young man named George W. Bush into the Texas Air Guard - and I'm ashamed." (082904) (see Greg Palast for 8/28/04)

Bush Flip Flop:

It seems Bush criticized Kerry for budget cuts to intel, but the Bushite's nominee suggested even larger cuts...so what is it georgie boy?(082404a) And it seems they flip flop on global warming as well. (083004a) "The war on terror cannot be won" G.W. himself says it, loud and clear. (083004e) And what ever happened to the Department of Homeland Security? (083004f) Oh, wait a minute, he meant to say that it could be won, oops (083104a)

Global Warming:

It seems that lobster's tell the tale, the New England catch is being effected by warming waters, apparently it doesn't take much. (082204e)

Muddle East/Iraq:

Bush praises the Iraqi athletes, especially their soccer team, but they have nothing good to say about him, I mean really (082204d) This article out loud wonders who is in charge in Iraq, marines who create their own policy, Negroponte? (082304a) Then too, how are we spending those billions of dollars, not as well as one might think. (082304e)

Terrorism Connections:

Two of the Sept. 11, 2001, hijackers had a support network in the United States that included agents of the Saudi government, and the Bush administration and FBI blocked a congressional investigation into that relationship, Sen. Bob Graham wrote in a book to be released Tuesday. (090604d)The discovery of the financial backing of the two hijackers ''would draw a direct line between the terrorists and the government of Saudi Arabia, and trigger an attempted cover-up by the Bush administration,'' the Florida Democrat wrote.

HEY, it's the STUPID MEDIA and Mo' money, Mo money:

Take a look at this story that I mentioned some time ago, about the rewriting of regulations concerning a "liberalizing" of the mercury emissions allowed for coal fired power plants. (082504a) and then compare it to this fact: that from 2002 we have, in some places, a 66% increase in mercury in some cases it is the highest level ever seen. Now, color me stupid if I can't get you to connect THOSE two dots! (082504b)

Personal Freedom and Liberty:

"If Mexico can do it anyone can." This article is about many things but it mentions, in passing, that people are being "chipped" so they can be scanned. I find it horrific, but then, who am I? (083004g)

Thoughts on the revolution:

People have said that if Bush "pulls off this election" that there will be "trouble" that there will be "street riots" and the like. I'd like to say that the revolution has already begun. Lives have been threatened and, in all probability some have been taken albeit slowly. What I mean is that leading up to the Republican National Convention, RNC, there were several reports of women with HIV who announced plans to have unprotected sex with RNC participants in order to infect them with a fatal disease. These would be the first shots in the revolution, attempted murder of those seen as responsible for egregious domestic and foreign policies.

I personally have several bets out that Bush will win. I have been saying this since late February or March. I hope that I loose those bets, but I made them because I think that people are complacent, believing, as many do, that the election system is fair and that the election's results will reflect the people's wishes.

When I talk about my bets I get the same kind of reaction as when I talk about my offer to give 1000 dollars to anyone who can show me clear photos of any plane wreckage at the Pentagon verifiably taken on 9/11. There were many, many people at the scene, there had to be cameras clicking, both in the hands of private and governmental people, so where are the pieces of the plane clearly evident?

Election, not selection:

If you're a Democrat and want to argue with a Republican about which party tends to be better for the economy, all around, read this article, print it and use it for your talking points. Dems trounce Repubs, contrary to the popular myth to the contrary. (092004a)

Yes, the polls say it all, Bush is in the lead, they are neck and neck, all in the same day. Gallup has a penchant for giving Bush the edge, and by several points, when compared to other polls; this is a story in and of itself, but then again, who'd listen. (091904a) And here is the follow up article giving more detail (091904b)

So why don't we hear more about this story, which details Cheney's criticism of US policy's restricting trade with terrorist states as well as investing in them. He did and here is the tale. (091804c)

The prison abuse scandal, just one of the many scandals that get brief mention on the TV news, stinks up the Pentagon and perhaps the White House, but the line is that no one knew anything about it so no one is to blame (091404a) And here is a bit more on that story, a few more details and the discerning reader might ask, "ha' de fuk is dey be doin' up dere in dat White House if'n dey bees allowin' dat sorter crap?" (091404f)

Then there is Saudi Government, Saudi 9/11 moneymen, and an FBI agent all happily together in San Diego as roommates. To hear the FBI tell it they didn't know the agent's roommates were suspicious, the CIA didn't tell them, and even though the agent was charged with "looking out for suspicious activity in the Saudi community" well, he didn't exactly do that, did he? Or did he? Is this story being covered by CNN, CBS, anyone??? (091404c)

Prince "Bandar Bush" and Georgie standing on the Truman balcony and take in the night air on 9/13. They could see the Pentagon fire, at the time it was thought the twin towers had created 40,000 deaths, that Saudi's had been the main perps, Saudi money had been involved, and that there were plans to get 140 Bin Ladens out of the US by air without interviewing, looking for evidence. What did Bush and Bandar talk about? (091404d)

Say, and don't be caught out with a V.W.B. It is a serious business, "voting while black" (091404b) If you want to know more check out the "organization woman" who runs Black Box Voting who is blowing the whistle on this situation. (091404e)

Bush says that Kerry's plans will cost two trillion dollars and that it is outrageous, what he does not mention is that his plan could top three trillion and that's not including an ongoing war. What a jackass. (091404j)

And while we're at it, why not have a Cocaine Presidency? I hear the drug makes you feel like a new man, and that's what we need, a new man in the White House. (091404g)

If you're in the National Guard, you may have heard about the call ups for deployment scheduled, guess when, early November. Some say it is the ordinary call up to rotate troops others say it is larger than that we'll find out, I guess, if Bush wins. (091904d)

And here is the "Jersey Girls" those who made the 9/11 commission happen saying that Bush blocked their efforts attempting to thwart them at every turn, this is surely the "anti - terror president"(091704b)

Global Warming:

Well it seems that England's Tony Blair has seen some sort of light on the Global Warming issue, over on this side of the pond we have profound silence, is anyone else 'bushed"? (091404h)

But we are doing our best here in this country to take care of business. To that end read how the environment is being looted, ignored as fat and sassy paybacks go Ka - ching at the old bank, Bush is the best president corporate money can buy. (091704a)

Muddle East/Iraq:

Here is a brief story that made the rounds. This illustrates the difficulty our troops face, how harsh this war is, and how we are making enemies at an alarming rate. (091404i) How about this, 25,000 casualties of all kinds in Iraq as of this point, about 1K killed, 7K wounded, and 16K "evacuated" because they were no longer fit for service. (091604a)

Got Oil?

That's right this article outlines the possibility that the "peak oil" phenomenon may be at our doorstep, even as this is written, even as you read it Sayyyyy it aint so... (092104a)
